New Delhi – The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened choice filling for NEET PG Round 1 counselling 2025. This process facilitates admission to 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. The official schedule was released after significant delays.
Qualified candidates can now register and select their preferred courses and institutions. The NEET PG seat matrix, including AIQ, central internal quota, deemed universities, and final DNB seats, is available on the official website, mcc.nic.in .
Eligibility and Participation
Only candidates who qualified the NEET PG 2025 exam are eligible. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducted the exam. Over 2 lakh candidates participated, with approximately 1.28 lakh qualifying for counselling.
Round 1 Counselling Schedule
The MCC announced the NEET PG counselling dates on October 28 , following three months of uncertainty. Candidates must complete choice filling and locking by November 5 .

Supreme Court Case and Doctor Shortage
The counselling schedule faced delays due to a pending Supreme Court case concerning exam transparency. While the court was tentatively set to resume hearings on October 28 , no new updates are available.
The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association India (FORDA) wrote to the health ministry. FORDA urged the ministry to accelerate the MCC NEET PG admission process. The letter highlighted an existing shortage of resident doctors in hospitals nationwide. FORDA also requested transparent updates on the Supreme Court proceedings.
State Quota Counselling
In parallel, several states have initiated NEET PG counselling for state quota seats. Details regarding state-wise counselling schedules, bond policies, college and course fees, eligibility criteria, and cut-off marks are available through respective state authorities.
