About This Scholarship
The WISE SCOPE Fellowship program 2024 is an esteemed opportunity offered by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, specifically designed for female scientists and technologists who have successfully completed their Ph.D. degree. This initiative aims to empower these accomplished individuals to effectively leverage their profound knowledge and extensive expertise in science and technology for the greater benefit of society.
Selected candidates for this prestigious fellowship will receive a substantial monthly fellowship along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) and various other significant benefits. These include:
• A monthly fellowship of ₹55,000 and HRA as per prevailing norms.
• An annual research grant amounting to ₹2,00,000.
• A dedicated field demonstration cost of ₹1,00,000 for the entire project tenure.
• Support for small equipment costs up to ₹2,00,000, along with institutional overhead charges in adherence to DST norms.

The selection process for the WISE SCOPE Fellowship is rigorous and comprehensive. It involves an initial preliminary screening to confirm eligibility, followed by a thorough evaluation of the applicant’s academic and research credentials. The assessment also considers the identified societal challenge the project aims to address, the scientific methodology proposed, and the anticipated impact and beneficiaries on the ground. The final selection is based on the recommendations provided by Subject Expert Committees (SECs). Applicants will be officially notified of the Department of Science and Technology's (DST's) final decision once all necessary administrative and financial clearances have been successfully obtained.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the WISE SCOPE Fellowship, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Have completed a Ph.D. degree in Basic/Applied Sciences OR
• Hold an equivalent degree such as MD, MS, or MDS.
• Be aged between 27 and 60 years at the time of application submission.
• Not be a regular employee in any organization.
Important Notes:
• Women candidates who are temporarily employed in academic or research roles are eligible to apply. However, if selected for this fellowship, they are required to resign from their current positions.
• Applicants currently engaged in any project as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, Research Associate, or similar roles will be considered under a temporary assignment.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents in PDF format:
• Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the mentor (maximum size: 500KB).
• Conflict of Interest Policy document (maximum size: 800KB).
• Endorsement from the Head of the Institute (maximum size: 800KB).
• Complete project proposal (maximum size: 5MB).
• Highest degree certificate (maximum size: 800KB).
• Consent letter from the mentor (maximum size: 800KB).
• Undertaking document (maximum size: 800KB).
• HRA declaration certificate (maximum size: 800KB).
• Date of birth proof (maximum size: 800KB).
Note: All documents must be submitted exclusively in PDF format.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates can apply for the WISE SCOPE Fellowship by following the steps mentioned below:
1. Click on the 'Apply Now' button on the official website.
2. If not already registered, click the 'Register' button and complete the required registration details. If already registered, log in using your Gmail, Mobile number, or Email ID.
3. Click on the ‘New PI registration’ tab. If you have previously registered as a PI, click on the login button instead.
4. Fill in all the necessary details to ‘Register’. When prompted, select the designation as ‘WISE-SCOPE Fellow’.
5. After successful registration, log in using your valid credentials and then click the ‘Submit Proposals’ link provided.
6. Carefully fill in all the information requested under each menu, as applicable. Upload all the required documents in the prescribed format and then submit your application.
Important Notes for Applicants:
• It is crucial that applicants thoroughly enter, review, and verify all precise details filled in the online application. No changes will be possible once the ‘Submit Proposal’ button has been clicked.
