This scholarship, Telangana Pre-Matric Scholarships For SC/ST/BC/Disabled Welfare 2023-24, is a significant initiative by the Government of Telangana aimed at supporting students from Classes 5 to 10. The primary objective is to reduce the incidence of drop-outs, particularly during the crucial transition from elementary to secondary education, and to enhance the participation of SC students in the Pre-Matric stage.
The selected candidates will receive comprehensive scholarship grants designed to cover various educational expenses. The benefits are structured differently for various class levels and student categories:
For Classes 5 to 8 (per month for 10 months):
Girls: INR 150
Boys: INR 100
For Classes 9 and 10 (per month for 10 months):
Day scholars: INR 150 (Scholarship Amount) + INR 750 (Books and Ad hoc grant per annum)
Hostellers: INR 350 (Scholarship Amount) + INR 1,000 (Books and Ad hoc grant per annum)
These grants are intended to provide substantial financial assistance, ensuring that eligible students can pursue their education without significant financial burdens.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Telangana Pre-Matric Scholarships, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be a domicile of Telangana state.
• Be a student from Class 5 to 10.
• Be a regular and full-time student studying in a Government school, or in a school run by local bodies such as Mandal Praja Parishad, Zilla Praja Parishad, Municipalities/Municipal Corporations, or any school aided by the Government.
• Maintain an attendance of 75% at the end of each quarter.
• Have an annual family income lower than:
• INR 2 lakh for the SC/ST category.
• INR 1.5 lakh for BC, EBC, and minority welfare category of a rural family.
• INR 2 lakh for BC, EBC, and minority welfare category of an urban family.
• INR 1 lakh for the disabled welfare category.
Required Documents
For the registration form, applicants are required to submit scanned copies of the following documents:
• UID (Aadhaar Card) of the applicant.
• Passport size image of the applicant student.
• Caste and Income Certificate as issued by the Mee-Seva Kendra.
• Bank passbook of the student's account (first page) or a cancelled cheque of the same account.
• Note: The Bank Account must be in the name of the student along with the Mother/Father/Guardian in cases where the student is a minor.
