About This Scholarship
This scholarship is an initiative by the Directorate of Higher Education, Haryana, designed for students pursuing degree, postgraduate, and doctorate courses. These merit-cum-poverty scholarships for General University Education aim to support students who face financial challenges in pursuing higher studies.
The scheme classifies scholarships into several categories:
• Common Open Merit Scholarships for urban and rural areas, for both boys and girls pursuing Postgraduate Courses (M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./Ph.D.).
• Open Merit Scholarships for Boys and Girls in degree courses.
• Rural Area Merit Scholarships for Boys and Girls in degree courses.
• Rural Area Merit Scholarships for Boys and Girls in Prep./Hr.Sec. courses.
Under this scheme, selected candidates can receive a monthly financial assistance of varying amounts, depending on their course level, with a maximum of up to ₹900. For students enrolled in integrated courses offered after Class 12 (such as M.B.A./M.C.A./ B.A.-L.L.B./B.Com.-L.L.B./B.B.A.-L.L.B./M.F.A.), the scholarship amount will be:
• The amount fixed for the UG course for the initial three years.
• The amount fixed for the PG course for the remaining period.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, an applicant must:
• Be a domicile of Haryana.
• Have passed the specified Public Examination from Panjab University, Kurukshetra University, or any other examining body otherwise notified by the awarding authority.
Note:
• Students' parents/guardians must be citizens of India.
• Scholarships under the scheme for postgraduate study, namely M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./Ph.D., will be awarded without any consideration of parental income.
Required Documents
The following documents are required for the application:
• Aadhaar card
• Applicant's photograph
• Applicant's signature
• Income certificate
• Domicile certificate
• Caste certificate
• Class 10 and 12 certificates/marksheets
• Parivar Pehchan Patra
• Fee receipt
• Last exam passed certificate (except for 1st-year students)
• BPL certificate (if applicable)
• Parent(s)/Guardian(s) death certificate (if applicable)
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:
1. Click on the 'Apply Now' button on the official scholarship portal.
2. Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
3. Navigate to 'Student Registration' at the top of the dashboard and click on it.
4. Enter the Parivar Pehchaan Patra (Family ID); a list of members will be displayed. Select the name of the applicant and click on the 'Generate OTP' button.
5. Enter the OTP received on the registered Mobile No. and click on the 'Verify OTP' button.
6. After OTP Verification, all the details get auto-filled in the Registration Form; cross-check the information.
7. Select the Department and College, create a password, and click on the 'Register' button.
8. Click the login link at the portal and enter the valid credentials to apply for the scholarship.
9. Provide all necessary details like course, roll no., eligibility, etc.
10. Click on the 'Apply' button to save and submit the application.
