About This Scholarship

SOF International Social Studies Olympiad (ISSO) 2025-26 is a prestigious single-level examination organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). This Olympiad is designed for students from Class 3 to 10, aiming to recognize and reward academic excellence in Social Studies. Participants have the opportunity to win significant awards, including cash prizes up to ₹50,000, medals, and various certificates.

The selection of winners is based solely on the performance of the students in the Olympiad. All participants receive a participation certificate. Top performers are eligible for a range of international and zonal level awards.

Important Dates for the Examination:
Exam Date One: 18 September 2025
Exam Date Two: 20 November 2025
Exam Date Three: 23 January 2026
The final deadline for applications is December 31, 2025.

Award Categories and Benefits:

International Level Awards:
First Rank Holder: An award of ₹50,000, a gold medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.
Second Rank Holder: An award of ₹25,000, a silver medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.
Third Rank Holder: An award of ₹10,000, a bronze medal, and a certificate of outstanding performance.

Note on International Ties:
• If up to 10 students achieve the same international rank, the cash award for that category will be distributed equally among them. Each winner will also receive a medal in the applicable category and a certificate.
• If 11 or more students secure the same international rank, each winner will be awarded gifts worth ₹1,000, along with a medal in the applicable category and a certificate.

Zonal Level Awards:
First Rank Holder: An award of ₹5,000, a zonal gold medal, and a certificate of zonal excellence.
Second Rank Holder: An award of ₹2,500, a zonal silver medal, and a certificate of zonal excellence.
Third Rank Holder: An award of ₹1,000, a zonal bronze medal, and a certificate of zonal excellence.
4th to 10th Rank Holders: Awards of gifts worth ₹500 each, a medal, and a certificate of distinction.
11th to 25th Rank Holders: A medal and a certificate of distinction.
26th Rank Holders and Above: A participation certificate and a student performance report.

Note on Zonal Ties:
• If up to 5 students achieve the same zonal rank, the cash award for that category will be distributed equally among them. Each winner will receive a medal in the applicable category and a certificate.
• If 6 or more students secure the same zonal rank, each winner will be awarded gifts worth ₹1,000, along with a medal in the applicable category and a certificate.
• For single-level exams and 2-level exams, a medal of distinction and a certificate of distinction are awarded for 1st-level performance. Zonal medals and certificates of zonal excellence will be awarded for 2nd-level performance.

Eligibility Criteria

"To be eligible for the SOF International Social Studies Olympiad (ISSO) 2025-26, an applicant must fulfill the following criterion:

• The applicant must be studying in Class 3 to 10 in a recognized institution or school."

Required Documents

"There are no specific documents required from individual students at the time of application. The application process is primarily managed through the participating schools.

How to Apply

"Eligible candidates can apply for the SOF International Social Studies Olympiad (ISSO) 2025-26 by following these steps:

1. Students are required to contact their respective school authority to apply for this opportunity. The application process is facilitated primarily through the schools.
2. Schools that are already registered with the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) will receive a prospectus containing the necessary registration forms.
3. Schools not yet registered with SOF can request a prospectus by sending an email to info@sofworld.org or by calling 0124-4951200.
4. Schools must complete and return the registration forms to SOF by the specified due date.

Important Notes regarding application fees:

• Schools in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal are required to pay SOF a registration fee of ₹125 per student per Olympiad. This fee includes GST.
• For schools in other countries, the registration fee is USD 11 per student per Olympiad.
• Schools may charge an additional ₹25 (or USD 1 for other countries) per student. This additional amount is intended to cover honorarium for the in-charge, remuneration for teachers involved in teaching and guiding students, and other related expenses.
No fee is payable for students who are suffering from any major physical disability.
Indian students whose parent was martyred during defense operations are also exempt from paying the registration fee.
