About This Scholarship

The Scholarship for Minority Students Pursuing Higher and Professional Courses (DMER), Maharashtra 2025-26 is an initiative by the Minority Development Department, Government of Maharashtra. This program aims to provide crucial financial assistance to minority students who are pursuing specific health science courses.

Selected students are eligible to receive a scholarship amount that covers either their total annual course fee or ₹50,000, whichever of these two amounts is less. The primary goal is to support and encourage students from minority communities in their higher and professional education endeavors.

The application deadline for this valuable scholarship is March 31, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:

Indian citizenship: The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Maharashtra Domicile: The applicant must hold a domicile of Maharashtra.

Minority Community: The applicant must belong to one of the specified minority communities. These include Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Parsi, and Jewish communities.

Admission Process: Admission to the course must have been secured either through a CET/competitive examination or based on marks obtained in Higher Secondary School (HSC).

Eligible Courses: The applicant must have taken admission in one of the following higher and professional courses:
• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
• Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
• Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
• Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)
• Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
• Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPTH)
• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOTH)
• Bachelor's in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP)
• Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO)
• Bachelor of Paramedical Technology (BPMT)
• B.Sc./M.Sc. Nursing
• Ophthalmic Assistant
• Optometry
• Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
• Any other courses affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik.

Annual Family Income: The applicant's annual family income must be less than or equal to ₹8,00,000.

Required Documents

To successfully apply for the scholarship, applicants must submit the following required documents:

• Aadhaar card
• Domicile Certificate
• School Leaving Certificate
• HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) and SSC (Secondary School Certificate) marksheets
• Marksheets from the previous academic year
• Father’s PAN card
• Student’s PAN card (optional)
• Mother’s PAN card (optional)
• Income certificate of parents or Form no.16

Additional Documents for Applicants Studying Outside Maharashtra:
If the applicant is pursuing studies outside the state of Maharashtra, the following additional documents are mandatory:

• A copy of the Fees Regulatory Authority (FRA) approval
• A Bonafide certificate for the current academic year
• A letter from the concerned council/authority explicitly stating that the institute is recognized

Important Note: The income certificate or affidavit provided must clearly mention that the candidate belongs to a minority community to confirm eligibility for the scholarship.

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply for this scholarship by following these detailed steps:

1. Initiate Application: Visit the official website and initiate the application process by clicking on the 'Apply Now' button.

2. Registration: Locate and click the 'Register' button. Complete the necessary registration details as prompted. If you are an existing user, you can simply log in using your Gmail, Mobile number, or Email ID.

3. New Applicant Registration: On the dashboard, find the 'New Applicant Registration' button, typically located on the right-hand side, and click it to proceed.

4. Fill Details and Register: Provide all requested information accurately. This includes verifying your email address and phone number. Enter the captcha code shown, and then click the 'Register' button to complete this step.

5. Applicant Login: Upon successful registration on the portal, navigate to the 'Applicant login' button, usually on the right-hand side of the dashboard, and click it.

6. Log In: Log in to your applicant account using the username and password you created during registration.

7. Complete and Submit: Fill in the application form with all necessary personal and academic details. Carefully upload all the required documents as specified. After reviewing all information for accuracy, submit your application.
