Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme Government of India, Maharashtra 2025-26, is a vital initiative by the Tribal Development Department, Government of Maharashtra. It aims to provide crucial financial assistance to students belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category within the state.
This scholarship is designed to encourage students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education beyond Class 10, thereby fostering academic growth and reducing financial barriers.
Selected candidates will receive a comprehensive package of maintenance allowances and other grants to support their educational journey. The benefits are structured to cater to various needs, ensuring students can focus on their studies without undue financial stress.
The selected students for this scholarship program will receive the following maintenance allowance and other grants:
• For Hostellers/Day Scholars:
• Group 1: ₹550 to ₹1,200 per month
• Group 2: ₹530 to ₹820 per month
• Group 3: ₹300 to ₹570 per month
• Group 4: ₹230 to ₹380 per month
• Reader Allowance:
• Group 1-2: ₹240 per month
• Group 3: ₹200 per month
• Group 4: ₹160 per month
• Escort Allowance: ₹160 per month
• Special Pay: ₹160 per month
• For Mentally Retarded, Extra Coaching: ₹240 per month
• Study Tours: ₹1,600 per annum
• Thesis Typing/Printing: ₹1,600 per annum
• Book Grant: ₹1,200 per annum
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be a domicile of Maharashtra, proving their residence within the state.
• Belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category of Maharashtra, as per government classification.
• Have successfully passed Class 10 from a recognised educational institution.
• Have an annual family income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources.
• Not have a gap of more than 2 years in their formal education. This ensures continuity in their academic pursuits.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents to support their scholarship application:
• Caste certificate: A valid certificate confirming the applicant's Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.
• Income certificate: A recent certificate proving the annual family income does not exceed the specified limit.
• Previous year's marksheet: Academic record from the preceding year of study.
• Caste validity certificate: This document is mandatory for applicants enrolling in selected professional courses.
