About This Scholarship

The PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme of Top Class Education in College for OBC, EBC and DNT Students, 2025-26 is a significant initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. This scheme aims to uplift and empower students from Other Backwards Classes (OBC), Economically Backwards Classes (EBC), and De-notified Tribes (DNT) by providing robust financial assistance for pursuing higher education beyond Class 12.

The core objective is to ensure access to quality education at notified institutions for deserving students from these communities. The application deadline for this invaluable opportunity is October 31, 2025.

Selected students will receive comprehensive financial benefits, designed to cover various educational expenses. These include:
Full tuition fees and non-refundable charges: Up to ₹2,00,000 per annum for public sector institutions, and up to ₹3,72,000 per annum for private sector flying clubs offering Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses.
Monthly living expenses: A stipend of ₹3,000 per month.
Books and stationery allowance: ₹5,000 per annum.
One-time assistance for computer/laptop with accessories: Limited to ₹45,000 during the course tenure.

Selection for this scheme is merit-based, primarily determined by the candidate's performance in the entrance examination merit list of their chosen institution. While the scheme covers OBC, EBC, and DNT students, a preference is given to OBC candidates as a significant portion of the fund is allocated for them. Institutions also have provisions to offer remaining slots to eligible students in subsequent years (second, third, or fourth year) based on their previous academic merit, with priority given to those with more years remaining to complete their course. For detailed criteria on the merit list, applicants should refer to Annexure 1 in the 'Scholarship Guidelines'.

This scheme is a commendable effort by the Government of India to promote inclusivity and academic excellence among these specific sections of society. More information can be found on scholarships.gov.in.
