About This Scholarship
The Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children Post-Matric Scholarship, Arunachal Pradesh 2025-26, is a significant initiative by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. This scheme aims to provide crucial financial assistance to students pursuing their education from Class 11 and above.
It encompasses a wide range of courses, including professional, technical, non-professional, and non-technical disciplines. This also extends to correspondence courses, covering distance and continuing education, ensuring broad accessibility for eligible students.
Selected candidates under this scheme will receive a maintenance allowance of up to ₹1,200, along with various other benefits designed to support their educational journey. The application deadline for this scholarship is October 10, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be a citizen of India.
• Be a domicile of Arunachal Pradesh.
• Belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
• Have successfully passed the Class 10/12 or a higher secondary examination from a recognized university or board.
• Have an annual family income of less than ₹2,50,000.
• Hold a valid account in a scheduled bank, which must be linked to Aadhaar and a mobile number.
• Not be currently receiving any other scholarship.
Note:
The scholarships are specifically provided for the study of post-matriculation/post-secondary courses. These courses must be recognized by the concerned approving authority and pursued in one of the following categories of institutions/universities/colleges:
• All government institutes, colleges, and universities.
• Institutions of National Importance.
• Central universities, state universities, and autonomous colleges recognized by the UGC, as well as universities and colleges recognized under section 2(f) and/or 12(b) of the UGC Act.
• Deemed universities.
• Private universities recognized by state/centre with ‘A’ level or equivalent accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) or National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
• Private professional institutions affiliated with a recognized central/state university.
• Schools and colleges recognized by government/government-aided bodies for Classes 11 and 12.
• Diploma-granting institutions as recognized by state/UT governments.
• Vocational training institutes affiliated with the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT).
• Institutions affiliated/approved by appropriate bodies such as MCI/AICTE or any regulatory body established by the state/centre as an approving authority for a particular course.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
• A passport-size photograph of the student.
• Domicile certificate.
• Academic transcripts of previous qualifying examinations, including certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.
• ST certificate, duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer (RO) not below the rank of Tehsildar.
• An income certificate for parent(s)/guardian(s), issued by the authority as decided by the state government.
• A receipt acknowledging the scholarship received in the previous year (if applicable).
• Disability certificate (if applicable).
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following these steps:
1. Step 1: Visit the official website's scholarship page and look for the designated application portal to begin the process.
2. Step 2: If you are a new user, click on the 'Register' button and complete the required registration details. If you are already registered, you can log in using your Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.
3. Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
4. Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option, as this is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
5. Step 5: On the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), click on 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Step 6: Carefully read the details provided, tick the checkbox to confirm, and then click on the 'Next' button.
7. Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, the captcha code displayed, and the OTP (One-Time Password) received. Submit these details to complete the initial registration process on NSP.
8. Step 8: Fill in all the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. Note: This provides a temporary registration number. Students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to finalize the OTR process.
9. Step 9: After successfully registering on NSP, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
10. Step 10: Select the specific scholarship, fill in all the required details accurately, upload the necessary documents, and finally submit your application.
Note: All applicants are strongly advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
