Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the NSP Pre-Matric Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be an Indian national.
• Be domiciled in the state of Goa.
• Be currently enrolled in Class 1 to 10 in an institution recognized by a concerned State Government or Union Territory Administration.
• Be a child or ward of a person engaged in occupations involving cleaning or prone to health hazards. This specifically includes manual scavenging, flaying, waste picking, or other hazardous health occupations, as defined in Section 2(I) of the Manual Scavengers Act 2013.

Important Note for Divyang (Disabled) Students:
An additional 10% allowance will be provided to Divyang students. The definition of disability aligns with the relevant Section of the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016. Certifying authorities designated by the appropriate Government will issue disability certificates.

Scholarship Continuation:
The award is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and a minimum of 75% attendance during each academic year.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following documents along with their application:

• One recent passport-size photograph with the student's signature clearly visible.
Self-attested copies of certificates and mark sheets for all previously passed examinations.
• A caste certificate officially signed by an authorized Revenue Officer, who must be of a rank no lower than Tehsildar.
• Complete academic transcripts, which include both mark sheets and relevant certificates from previous educational stages.

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following these detailed steps:

1. Initiate Application: Visit the official National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or the designated application link.
2. Register (if new user):
• Click on the 'Register' button.
• Fill in the required registration details.
• If you are already registered, log in using your Gmail account, mobile number, or Email ID.
3. Navigate to Students Section: On the dashboard, locate and click on the 'Students' option, usually found on the left-hand side.
4. One-Time Registration (OTR) Login:
• Click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option. This is a mandatory step to apply for scholarships on NSP.
5. New User OTR Registration:
• If you are a new user for OTR, click on 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side.
• Carefully read the instructions, tick the checkbox to confirm understanding, and click 'Next'.
6. Complete OTR Initial Registration:
• Enter a functional mobile number.
• Input the provided captcha code.
• Enter the OTP received on your mobile number and submit to complete this part of the registration.
7. Finalize OTR Details:
• Fill in all the required personal and demographic details.
• Click on 'Save & Register' to finalize the One-time Registration (OTR) process.
Note: This initial registration provides a temporary registration number. Students must download the OTR mobile application and complete face authentication to fully finish the OTR process.
8. Apply for Scholarship:
• After successfully completing the OTR, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option.
• Click on the 'Login' button.
9. Submit Application:
• Select the specific scholarship you are applying for.
• Fill in all the required details accurately in the application form.
• Upload all the necessary supporting documents.
• Finally, review all entered information and click 'Submit'.

Important Considerations:
• All applicants are strongly advised to fill in the information correctly and completely on the application form.
• Once an application is submitted, no further changes or modifications can be made.
• Submitting multiple applications for the same scholarship will lead to immediate disqualification.
