The Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students, Manipur 2025, is a significant initiative by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, implemented through the Government of Manipur. Selected candidates will receive substantial support, including a monthly maintenance allowance and various other benefits designed to facilitate their educational journey. The comprehensive financial assistance offered includes:

Maintenance Allowance: This allowance varies significantly based on the course level and whether the student is a hosteller or a day scholar.
Group 1 courses (e.g., Medicine, Engineering, PhD, LL.M.) offer ₹1,200 per month for hostellers and ₹550 for day scholars.
Group 2 courses (e.g., Pharmacy, Nursing, LLB, postgraduate courses not in Group 1) provide ₹820 for hostellers and ₹530 for day scholars.
Group 3 courses (e.g., BA, BSc, BCom) offer ₹570 for hostellers and ₹300 for day scholars.
Group 4 courses (e.g., Class 11-12, ITI, Polytechnic diplomas) provide ₹380 for hostellers and ₹230 for day scholars.
• The allowance is disbursed from April 1st or the month of admission, covering the academic year until exams and holidays.

Additional Provisions for ST Students with Disabilities:
Reader Allowance for blind students, ranging from ₹160 to ₹240 per month depending on the course group.
Transport Allowance up to ₹160 per month for disabled students not residing in on-campus hostels.
Escort Allowance of ₹160 per month for severely handicapped day scholars with low extremity disability.
Special Pay of ₹160 per month for hostel employees assisting severely orthopedically handicapped students.
Allowance for Extra Coaching of ₹240 per month for mentally retarded and mentally ill students.
• These provisions also extend to leprosy-cured students. Disabled students can avail additional benefits from other schemes not covered here, provided their disability is certified by a competent medical authority.

Fees Coverage: The scholarship covers compulsory fees such as enrollment/registration, tuition, games, union, library, magazine, and medical examination. Refundable deposits like caution money and security deposits are not covered.

Other Allowances:
Study Tour Charges: Up to ₹1,600 per annum for students pursuing professional and technical courses, subject to institutional certification of necessity.
Thesis Typing/Printing Charges: Up to ₹1,600 for research students, upon recommendation.
Book Allowance for Correspondence/Distance Education: An annual allowance of ₹1,200 for essential prescribed books, plus reimbursement of course fees.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:

• Be a citizen of India and a domicile of Manipur.
• Belong to the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category.
• Have cleared the matriculation/higher secondary/any higher examination from a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education.
• Be studying at the post-matriculation level (Class 11 and above) in a recognized institution.
• Have an annual parent(s)/guardian income not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources.

Important Notes on Eligibility:

• Students enrolled in correspondence courses are also eligible.
• Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine will be eligible only if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
• Certain students are ineligible for the scholarship. These include:
• Candidates who pursue studies at the same level but in a different subject after completing a previous program at the same level. For instance, a student pursuing an I.Sc after an I.A., or a B.Com. after a B.A. or M.A.
• Students who have already completed their education in one professional field and now wish to pursue studies in another, such as pursuing an LLB after completing a B.T. or B.Ed.
• Students who have already received financial assistance from the government for pre-examination training at any coaching center.
• Students currently enrolled in Class 11 or 12 are ineligible, except for those who have completed their Class 10 exams and are now pursuing a different course at a higher level.

Required Documents

• Passport-size photograph of the student with their signature.
• Self-attested copies of academic certificates/diploma/mark sheets.
• Caste certificate duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer (RO), not below the rank of Tahsildar.
• Annual family income certificate. If self-employed, an income declaration affirming definite income from all sources through an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper is required.
• Receipt acknowledging the scholarship in the previous year (for renewal, if applicable).

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) by following these steps:

1. Access the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
2. For new users, click on the 'New user? Register yourself' option, usually found on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
3. Carefully read the instructions, tick the checkbox to confirm, and then click on the 'Next' button.
4. Provide a functional mobile number, enter the captcha code, and then input the One-Time Password (OTP) received to complete the initial registration.
5. Fill in all the required personal and academic details, then click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. It's important to note that this provides a temporary registration number; students must download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to finalize the OTR process.
6. Once registered and OTR is complete, navigate back to the main dashboard, select the 'Apply for Scholarship' option, and click on the 'Login' button.
7. Locate and select the NSP Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students, Manipur 2025, fill in all the necessary details accurately, upload the required documents, and finally submit your application.
