About This Scholarship
The NSP Post-Matric Scholarship for SC, Goa 2025-26 is a significant initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It is designed to support students from the Scheduled Caste (SC) category who are domiciled in Goa and pursuing their post-matriculation or post-secondary education. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to help these students achieve their academic goals.
The scholarship offers substantial benefits to eligible students. These include coverage of compulsory non-refundable fees, such as tuition fees, as determined by the state government's fee/fixation rationalisation committee. Additionally, selected students will receive an academic allowance, the amount of which varies based on the course and whether the student is a hosteller or a day scholar.
The academic allowance structure is categorized into four groups:
• Group 1:
• Courses: Degree and postgraduate level courses in Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion, Agriculture, Veterinary and Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance/Administration, Computer Sciences and Applications. Also includes Postgraduation diploma courses in Management and Medicine, C.A/I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A. (day scholar rate only), M.Phil., Ph.D. and Post-doctoral programmes (D.Lit., D.Sc., etc.), and L.L.B, Integrated L.L.B, and L.L.M.
• Hostellers: ₹13,500 per annum
• Day Scholars: ₹7,000 per annum
• Group 2:
• Courses: Professional courses leading to degree, diploma, and certificate in Pharmacy (B. Pharma), Nursing (B.Nursing), BFS, and other para-medical branches like rehabilitation, diagnostics, Mass Communication, Hotel Management and Catering, Travel/Tourism/Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Commercial Arts, Finance for which entrance qualification is minimum senior secondary and vocational stream, ITI courses, and polytechnic where entrance qualification is Class 12 or above.
• Hostellers: ₹9,500 per annum
• Day Scholars: ₹6,500 per annum
• Group 3:
• Courses: Graduate and postgraduate courses not covered under Groups 1 and 2 (e.g., B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., M.A./M.Sc./M.Ed./M.Pharma, etc.).
• Hostellers: ₹6,000 per annum
• Day Scholars: ₹3,000 per annum
• Group 4:
• Courses: All post-matriculation level non-degree courses for which the entrance qualification is high school (Class 10).
• Hostellers: ₹4,000 per annum
• Day Scholars: ₹2,500 per annum
Important Notes on Academic Allowance:
• An additional 10% allowance will be provided to disabled students.
• Students pursuing CA/ICWA/CS/ICFA will be considered day scholars for academic allowances, receiving ₹550 per month.
• Students studying through correspondence or online courses are not eligible for academic allowances.
Beyond the financial award, the scheme also includes a Freeship Card. This card is issued by the state government to all eligible students, entitling them to admission into institutions without the pre-payment of tuition and hostel fees. With a freeship card, students can attend school without paying upfront, as the institution will directly receive the fees from the scholarship funds.
The application deadline for this scholarship is November 30, 2025. Students who meet the eligibility criteria are strongly encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the NSP Post-Matric Scholarship for SC, Goa 2025-26, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be an Indian national.
• Be domiciled in Goa.
• Belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
• Be pursuing a post-matriculation or post-secondary course in a recognized institution, college, or university, as specified in the scheme's terms and conditions.
• Have an annual family income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources.
Additional Notes on Eligibility:
• The age limit for admission as a regular student in different classes will be determined by the respective institutions.
• Candidates who are repeating the same stage of education in different subjects are ineligible. Examples include pursuing I.Sc. after I.A., B.Com. after a B.A., or an M.A. in a different subject after completing an M.A. in another subject.
• Candidates pursuing their studies through correspondence courses are eligible to apply. However, this applies only to distance and continuous education offered by Central/State universities.
• If a student is awarded two scholarships simultaneously, they must choose one. They are required to formally communicate their preference to the awarding authorities through their institution's Head.
Required Documents
Applicants for the NSP Post-Matric Scholarship for SC, Goa 2025-26 must prepare and submit the following documents:
• A recent passport-sized photograph of the student.
• One attested copy of all academic transcripts, including certificates, diplomas, and degrees.
• A valid caste certificate, which must be duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer (RO) not below the rank of Tehsildar.
• An income certificate for the parent(s)/guardian(s), issued by the authority as determined by the state government.
• A receipt acknowledging the scholarship received from the previous year, if applicable.
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the NSP Post-Matric Scholarship for SC, Goa 2025-26 by following these steps:
1. Click on the 'Apply Now' button on the official website.
2. Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. If you are already registered, log in using your Gmail, Mobile number, or Email ID.
3. Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
4. Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR (One-Time Registration) option, as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
5. Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
7. Enter a functional mobile number, the captcha code, and the OTP (One-Time Password), then submit to complete the registration process.
8. Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process.
• Note: This is a temporary registration number; students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.
9. After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
10. Select the scholarship, fill in all the required details, upload the necessary documents, and finally submit your application.
Important Considerations for Applicants:
• All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form.
• Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made.
• Submitting multiple applications will lead to disqualification.
