About This Scholarship
The NSP Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme for NER 2025-26 aims to promote higher education in the North-Eastern Region (NER) by providing financial assistance to deserving students. This initiative helps bridge the educational gap and encourages students from the NER to pursue various degree courses.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹8,000 for a duration of 10 months in a year, accumulating to ₹80,000 annually. The scholarship amount is disbursed directly into the beneficiaries' bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
The application deadline for this scholarship is October 31, 2025. Students are encouraged to apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:
• be an Indian citizen
• be a domicile of the North-Eastern Region (NER)
• have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in the preceding year from a school situated within NER through a recognised Board of Education, including:
• Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
• Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE)
• National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)
• have secured admission in the first year of a general degree/technical/professional/medical/paramedical course (Integrated courses included) in a recognised college/university/institute in India
• have an annual family income below ₹4,50,000 from all sources
Note: 50% of the scholarship slots in each category are reserved for programs in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Management. The remaining 50% are reserved for programs in Science, Engineering & Technology, Medical, Technical, Agriculture, and Forestry.

How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:
1. Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below. This will typically lead you to the official website for application.
2. Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
3. Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
4. Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option, as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
5. Step 5: Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
6. Step 6: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
7. Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
8. Step 8: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note: This is a temporary registration number; students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
9. Step 9: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
10. Step 10: Select the scholarship, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.
Note: All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification. You can find the application links on the official website and on scholarships.gov.in.
