About This Scholarship

NSP Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (Class 9 & 10), Goa 2025-26 is an opportunity provided by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, to offer financial assistance to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students residing in Goa who are enrolled in Classes 9 or 10. The scholarship aims to support these students' education and reduce dropout rates as they transition from elementary to secondary school.

Selected candidates will receive an annual scholarship of up to ₹5,250, along with additional grants for books and ad hoc expenses. For instance, hostelers can receive ₹5,250 for 10 months plus ₹1,000 for books annually, while day scholars receive ₹2,250 for 10 months and ₹750 for books. Furthermore, Divyangjan students are eligible for an additional monthly grant, provided their disability is certified by a competent medical authority.

The application deadline for this scholarship is October 31, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:-

• be an Indian national
• be a domicile of Goa
• belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community
• be a regular full-time student studying in Class 9 or 10 in a government school or a school recognised by the Government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education
• have an annual family income of less than ₹2,50,000
• not be receiving any other centrally-funded Pre-Matric Scholarship

Note: If a student is awarded two scholarships simultaneously, they may choose one and must formally communicate their preference to the awarding authorities through their institution's head.

Note:-

• State or Union Territories may determine the specific procedures and authorities responsible for issuing certificates.
• Self-declarations or affidavits of self-assessed income will not be accepted. State governments must establish designated authorities to issue income certificates.

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-

1. Access the National Scholarship Portal (NSP)
• Start by visiting the official National Scholarship Portal (NSP) website directly to apply for this scholarship.

2. Initial Registration (for new users on NSP)
• For new users, click on 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
• Carefully read the guidelines, tick the checkbox, and click 'Next'.
• Enter a functional mobile number, the captcha code, and the OTP received, then submit to begin the registration process.
• Fill in the required personal details and click 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process.
Note: This initial registration provides a temporary registration number. Students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to finalize the OTR process.

3. Login to NSP
• If you are an existing user or have completed the OTR process, navigate to the 'Login' button under the OTR option on the NSP dashboard.
• Log in using your registered credentials (e.g., Application ID and password).

4. Apply for the Scholarship
• After successful login, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option.
• Select the NSP Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (Class 9 & 10), Goa 2025-26.
• Fill in all the required details in the application form accurately.
• Upload all necessary documents as specified.
• Review your application thoroughly and click 'Submit'.

Important Notes for Applicants:

• All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made.
• Submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
