About This Scholarship
NSP Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students (Class 9 & 10), Goa 2025-26 is an initiative by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students residing in Goa who are enrolled in Classes 9 or 10. Its primary goal is to support their education and help reduce dropout rates as they advance from elementary to secondary schooling.
Selected scholars will receive a consolidated allowance designed to cover educational expenses. This includes:
• Scholarship for 10 months:
• Day Scholars: ₹2,250 annually
• Hostelers: ₹5,250 annually
• Books and Ad Hoc Grant:
• Day Scholars: ₹750 annually
• Hostelers: ₹1,000 annually
Additionally, Divyangjan students are eligible for further grants. If residing in a hostel, they will receive an additional monthly grant of ₹800 (₹9,600 annually). Day scholars will receive ₹600 monthly (₹7,200 annually). Disability must be certified by a competent medical authority of the State Government or Union Territory Administration, as defined by the Act. These disability allowance provisions also extend to leprosy-cured students and those with sickle cell anemia or thalassemia, upon providing the necessary certificate.
The selection of candidates for this scholarship is based solely on the fulfillment of the detailed eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be an Indian national.
• Be a domicile of Goa.
• Belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.
• Be a regular full-time student studying in Class 9 or 10.
• The student must be enrolled in a government school or a school recognized by the Government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.
• Have an annual family income of less than ₹2,50,000.
• Not be receiving any other centrally-funded Pre-Matric Scholarship simultaneously.
Note: If a student is awarded two scholarships concurrently, they must choose one and formally communicate their preference to the awarding authorities through their institution's head.
Required Documents
The following documents are required for the scholarship application:
• Passport-sized photograph.
• Aadhaar number.
• Domicile certificate.
• Caste certificate issued by a competent state authority.
• Family income certificate.
• Disability certificate (if applicable).
Important Notes regarding documents:
• State or Union Territories may determine the specific procedures and authorities responsible for issuing certificates.
• Self-declarations or affidavits of self-assessed income will not be accepted. State governments must establish designated authorities to issue income certificates.
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:
1. Visit the official National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
2. Register on the portal. If already registered, log in using your Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.
3. Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
4. Click on the 'Login' button under the OTR (One-Time Registration) option. This is essential for applying for a scholarship on NSP.
5. If you are a new user, click on 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
7. Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and the OTP received, then submit to complete the initial registration process.
8. Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. Note that this is a temporary registration number; students will need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to finalize the OTR process.
9. After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
10. Select the relevant scholarship, fill in all required details, upload the necessary documents, and finally submit your application.
Important points to remember:
• All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form.
• Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made.
• Submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
