About This Scholarship
The NSP Centrally Sponsored Scheme Of Post-Matric Scholarship For SC Students, Meghalaya 2025-26 is a significant initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. It is administered via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and is designed to support Scheduled Caste (SC) students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds in Meghalaya, enabling them to pursue higher education.
The primary objective of this scheme is to alleviate the financial burden on SC students, facilitating their academic advancement beyond matriculation. The scholarship offers comprehensive financial support, including coverage for compulsory non-refundable fees (such as tuition fees, as determined by the State Government's fee fixation committee) for the entire duration of the course. Additionally, it provides an annual academic allowance, which varies depending on the category of the course, with hostellers receiving higher allowances than day scholars. For instance, students in professional degree and postgraduate courses can receive up to ₹13,500 annually as hostellers. An extra 10% allowance is provided for Divyang students, and eligible students will also receive a freeship card to prevent upfront fee payments.
Eligible candidates will be selected based on their adherence to the specified criteria. The application deadline for this scholarship is October 31, 2025. This valuable opportunity helps deserving students achieve their educational aspirations. The contact details for the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India are Room no. 202, 2nd floor C-wing, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, Delhi-110001.
