• Academic allowance: This varies based on the course category and whether the student is a hosteller or day scholar, provided annually:
• Group 1 • Degree and postgraduate level professional courses: Hostellers receive ₹13,500, Day Scholars receive ₹7,000.
• Group 2 • Other professional courses leading to degree/diploma/certificate: Hostellers receive ₹9,500, Day Scholars receive ₹6,500.
• Group 3 • Graduate and postgraduate courses not covered under Groups 1 and 2: Hostellers receive ₹6,000, Day Scholars receive ₹3,000.
• Group 4 • All post-matriculation (post Class 10) non-degree courses: Hostellers receive ₹4,000, Day Scholars receive ₹2,500.
Additional Notes on Benefits:
• An extra 10% allowance will be provided to disabled students.
• Students pursuing CA/ICWA/CS/ICFA will be considered day scholars for academic allowance purposes.
• Students enrolled in correspondence or online courses are not eligible for academic allowances.
• Scholarship benefits will not be provided to students who have already received benefits under another scholarship program. However, under this scheme, students may still utilize free housing, grants, or other forms of financial assistance to offset expenses such as books, equipment, and living costs.
Freeship Card:
According to the scheme guidelines, all eligible students can be admitted to institutions without requiring upfront payment of tuition or hostel fees. The state government will issue a freeship card to students who qualify for this benefit.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:
• Be a citizen of India.
• Be domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir.
• Belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category of the state.
• Be studying a post-matriculation or post-secondary course in a recognised institution/college/university (as specified in the terms & conditions section below).
• Have passed matriculation or higher secondary or any higher level examination from a recognised University or Board of Secondary Education.
• Have an annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income of less than or equal to ₹2,50,000 from all sources.
• Not hold any other scholarship/stipend.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
• A passport-size photograph of the student.
• Attested copies of academic transcripts and certificates, including diplomas, degrees, etc.
• An attested income certificate of the parent(s)/guardian(s) issued by the authority designated by the state government.
• A valid caste certificate duly signed by an authorised Revenue Officer (RO), not below the rank of Tehsildar.
• A receipt acknowledging the scholarship awarded in the previous year (if applicable).
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following these steps on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP):
1. Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for application.
2. Registration/Login:
• If you are a new user, click on the 'Register' button and complete the required registration details.
• If you are already registered, log in using your Gmail account, mobile number, or email ID.
3. Navigate to Students Section: On the left-hand side of the dashboard, find and click on the 'Students' option.
4. Login for OTR: Click on the 'Login' button under the 'OTR' (One-Time Registration) option, as this is necessary to apply for scholarships on NSP.
5. New User Registration (OTR): Click on 'New user? Register yourself' located on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Review and Proceed: Carefully read the instructions and details, then tick the checkbox to confirm your understanding, and click on the 'Next' button.
7. Complete Registration: Enter a functional mobile number, the provided captcha code, and the OTP (One-Time Password) you receive. Submit these details to complete the initial registration process.
8. One-Time Registration (OTR) Completion: Fill in all the necessary details and click on 'Save & Register' to finalize the 'One-time registration (OTR)'. Note: This will provide a temporary registration number. Students must download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to fully complete the OTR process.
9. Apply for Scholarship: After successful registration and OTR, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
