About This Scholarship

The NSP Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students, Jammu and Kashmir 2025, is an important initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. This scholarship provides a significant opportunity for Scheduled Caste (SC) students who are pursuing studies at the post-matric level, ranging from Class 11 up to postgraduate degrees.

The primary goal of this scheme is to enhance participation in higher education and foster the academic success of disadvantaged SC students by offering crucial financial assistance for their post-matric studies. Selected candidates are eligible to receive an annual academic allowance of up to ₹13,500, along with a range of other valuable benefits designed to support their educational journey.

The scholarship includes the following components for the complete duration of the course:
• Compulsory non-refundable fees, which include tuition fees, as determined by the fee fixation/rationalisation committee of the state government.
• Academic allowance, with varying amounts based on the course category:

| Courses category | Hostellers (annually in ₹) | Day Scholars (annually in ₹) |

Important Notes regarding benefits:
• Disabled students will receive an additional 10% allowance.
• Students pursuing courses like CA/ICWA/CS/ICFA will be classified as day scholars for the purpose of academic allowance calculations.
• Eligibility for academic allowances does not extend to students enrolled in correspondence or online courses.
• Scholarship benefits under this scheme will not be provided to students who are already receiving financial assistance through another scholarship program. However, eligible students may still utilize other forms of support, such as free housing or grants, to cover expenses like books, equipment, and living costs.

Freeship Card:
A key feature of this scheme is the provision of a freeship card. According to the guidelines, all eligible students can gain admission to institutions without being required to make upfront payments for tuition or hostel fees.
