The Post-Matric Scholarship to SC Students, Sikkim 2025 is a valuable opportunity provided by the Government of India, specifically through the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. It is administered by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Sikkim. This scholarship aims to support Scheduled Caste (SC) students who are domiciled in Sikkim and are pursuing post-matriculation studies, ranging from Class 11 up to postgraduate levels.

Selected students are eligible to receive an annual academic allowance of up to ₹13,500, along with other significant benefits to support their education. The application deadline for this scholarship is October 31, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
• be domiciled in Sikkim
• belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category of the state
• be studying a post-matriculation or post-secondary course in a recognised institution/college/university
• have passed the matriculation or higher secondary or any higher level examination from a recognised university or board of secondary education.
• have an annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources

Note:-
• The age limit for admission as a regular student in different classes will be determined by the concerned institutions.

• Candidates are ineligible if they repeat the same educational stage in a different subject (e.g., I.Sc. after I.A., B.Com. after B.A.) or pursue a Master's degree (M.A.) in a different subject after obtaining an M.A. in another subject.

• Students pursuing their studies through distance learning or continuing education programs are eligible to apply. However, this applies only to courses offered by Central/State universities.

• If a student is awarded two scholarships simultaneously, they may have the option to choose one. Their preference should be formally communicated to the awarding authorities through the Head of their Institution.

Required Documents

• Passport-sized photograph of the student
• One attested copy of academic transcripts including certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.
• Income certificate issued by the authorised state government authority for the parent(s)/guardian(s)
• A valid caste certificate duly signed by an authorised Revenue Officer (RO) of the Tehsildar rank or above
• Previous year's scholarship receipt (if applicable)

benefits_text: The scholarship includes the following components for the complete duration of the course -
• Compulsory non-refundable fees, including tuition fees as fixed by the fee/fixation rationalisation committee of the state government
• Academic allowance:

Note:-
• Students with disabilities will receive a 10% extra allowance.
• Students pursuing CA, ICWA, CS, or ICFA will be considered day scholars for academic allowance purposes.
• Students enrolled in correspondence or online courses are not eligible for academic allowances.
• Students who are receiving benefits from another scholarship program are not eligible for this one. However, students can still avail themselves of free housing, grants, or other financial aid provided under this scheme to help cover costs such as books, equipment, and living expenses.

Freeship Card:
According to the scheme guidelines, all students are eligible for admission to institutions without paying tuition or hostel fees upfront. To access this benefit, the state government will issue a freeship card to eligible students.

Students with freeship cards can attend school without paying fees immediately. The institution will subsequently receive the fees directly from the scholarship funds.

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP):

1. New User Registration:
Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the NSP dashboard.
Click on the 'Login' button under the OTR (One-Time Registration) option.
If you are a new user, click on 'New user? Register yourself'.
Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the initial registration process.
Fill in all required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) process.
Note: This provides a temporary registration number. Students must download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to finalize the OTR process.

2. Existing User Login & Application:
If already registered, log in using your credentials.
After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Select the relevant scholarship (NSP Centrally Sponsored Post-Matric Scholarship to SC Students, Sikkim 2025).
Fill in all required details in the application form.
Upload the necessary documents as specified.
Review your application carefully and submit.

Note:- All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
