About This Scholarship

NSP Central Sector Scholarship of Top Class Education for SC Students 2025-26 is an initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. This scholarship supports SC students who are pursuing or have been admitted to full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies in any discipline at recognized institutions across India. The scheme is designed to recognize and promote quality education beyond Class 12 among Scheduled Caste (SC) students, enabling them to achieve their academic aspirations without financial strain.

Selected candidates will receive comprehensive financial support to cover various educational and living expenses. The scholarship aims to alleviate financial burdens, allowing students to focus entirely on their studies.

The benefits awarded to SC students securing admission to notified institutions include:
• Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges: A ceiling of ₹2,00,000 per annum per student applies to private sector institutions.
• Academic allowance:
• First year: ₹86,000
• Subsequent years: ₹41,000 per year (This allowance helps with living expenses, books & stationery, and a computer/laptop of a reputable brand with essential accessories like a UPS and printer.)

Important Notes:
• The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will fund the scheme.
• The scholarship becomes payable immediately after the student secures admission and commences classes.
• The Central Government will directly disburse the tuition fee, non-refundable charges, and academic allowance to students via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Students are responsible for promptly depositing the fees to their institute within a month of receiving the payment.

Selection Criteria:
Candidates will be selected based on the fulfillment of the detailed eligibility criteria specified for the scholarship. Adherence to all requirements is crucial for consideration.

Application Deadline:
The application deadline for this scholarship is October 31, 2025. Applicants are advised to submit their applications well in advance to avoid last-minute issues.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:
• belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category
• have passed the Class 12 examination with a minimum of 60% marks
• have secured admission to a recognised college or university in India to pursue a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree
• have an annual income of less than ₹8,00,000 from all sources

• Caste certificate
• Income certificate (issued by a revenue officer, not below the rank of a Tehsildar)
• Bank account details of the institution and the student
• Proof of admission
• Scorecard of entrance exam qualified (if applicable)
• Class 12 marksheets
• The fee structure of the program

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).

Step 3: Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.

Step 4: Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR (One-Time Registration) option, as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Step 5: Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' link on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

Step 6: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox to confirm, and click on the 'Next' button.

Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, the captcha code, and the OTP received, then submit to complete the initial registration process.

Step 8: Fill in all the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note: This is a temporary registration number. Students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the full OTR process.)

Step 9: After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.

Step 10: Select the relevant scholarship, fill in all the required details in the application form, upload the necessary documents, and submit your application.

Important Note: All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
