About This Scholarship
The National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), located in Andhra Pradesh, is inviting applications for the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) Post Doctoral Fellowship 2020. This prestigious fellowship is open to eligible PhD, ME, or MTech degree holders.
This fellowship aims to support highly motivated young researchers who possess an established record of high-quality research and publications in relevant fields.
Selected candidates will receive a generous fellowship amount and additional benefits. These benefits are structured to support researchers throughout their tenure:
• INR 47,000 per month for the first year.
• INR 49,000 per month for the second year.
• INR 54,000 per month for the third year.
A provisional fellowship of INR 45,000 per month is also available for candidates who have successfully submitted their thesis but are awaiting the official award of their PhD degree. In addition to the monetary fellowship, selected candidates will also be provided with House Rent Allowance (HRA), medical benefits, and transport facilities, all in accordance with the rules of the host institute.
The selection process for this fellowship involves an initial screening of all received applications by a dedicated Screening Committee. Candidates who successfully pass this initial stage will then be invited for an interview. Applications for this fellowship are accepted round the year.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered eligible for the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) Post Doctoral Fellowship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
• Be below 35 years of age at the time of application.
• Have scored First Class (60%) or an equivalent grade in their postgraduate degree, specifically holding a doctorate (PhD) in one of the following disciplines:
• Physics
• Atmospheric Sciences
• Space Physics
• Meteorology
• Signal Processing
• Instrumentation
• Computational Electromagnetics
OR
• Have scored First Class (60%) or an equivalent grade in an ME/MTech degree in one of the following specializations:
• Electronics and Communication Engineering
• Remote Sensing
• Optical Engineering
• Microwave Engineering
• Additionally, applicants with an ME/MTech degree must possess at least 3 years of relevant research experience and have published at least one research paper in a Science Citation Index (SCI) Journal.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to prepare and submit the following documents as part of their application package:
• An updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• A comprehensive Research Proposal outlining the intended research work.
• The names and contact details of two referees who can provide recommendations.
• Copies of all relevant educational qualification documents (degrees, mark sheets, etc.).
• Any pertinent experience certificates to substantiate claims of research or professional experience.
