About This Scholarship
Open Merit Scholarships for EBC Students, Maharashtra 2025-26 is an initiative of the School Education and Sports Department, Government of Maharashtra. This program aims to provide financial assistance to Economically Backward Classes (EBC) category students who are studying in Class 11 or 12.
The key objective of this scholarship is to enable eligible students to continue their higher education without financial burden. Selected students will receive a scholarship for a period of 10 months.
Scholarship Amount Details (per month for 10 months):
• Hostelers:
• Boys: ₹140
• Girls: ₹160
• Day Scholars:
• Boys: ₹80
• Girls: ₹100
The application deadline for this scholarship is March 31, 2026.
Candidates will be selected based on the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must:
• Be an Indian citizen.
• Be a domicile of Maharashtra.
• Belong to the Economically Backward Class (EBC) category.
• Be studying in Class 11 or 12.
• Have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the SSC examination.
• Have passed the examination in the first attempt.
Required Documents
The following documents are required for the application:
• Income certificate approved by Tahasildar.
• SSC marksheet.
• Previous year marksheet (required for renewal applications).
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:
1. Visit the official scholarship application portal.
2. Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (If already registered, log in using your Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
3. Navigate to the 'New Applicant Registration' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
4. Fill in all required details, verify your email and phone number, enter the captcha, and click on the 'Register' button.
5. After successfully registering on the portal, click on the 'Applicant login' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Log in using your username and password.
7. Fill in all necessary details, upload the required documents, and submit your application.
