Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme, Andhra Pradesh
Scholarship Amount
About This Scholarship
The Jagananna Amma Vodi Scheme is a significant initiative by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It aims to provide financial assistance to mothers or guardians for sending their children to school. This scheme specifically targets students from Class 1 to Class 12, ensuring they receive uninterrupted education.
The primary objective is to enhance literacy rates and reduce dropout rates, especially among economically disadvantaged families. By providing annual financial aid, the scheme empowers mothers to support their children's educational journey, covering expenses that might otherwise hinder their schooling.
Eligible mothers or guardians whose child/children are studying in Class 12 will receive ₹14,000 per annum. This amount is sanctioned in January each year and directly deposited into the savings account of the beneficiaries in a Nationalized Bank or Post Office. The assistance continues until the child passes Class 12.
It's important to note that an amount of ₹1,000 is deducted at the source for each beneficiary. This deducted sum is then released to the school/college committee as the District Toilet Maintenance Fund (DTMF). This fund is specifically allocated for the maintenance of toilets in all government schools and junior colleges within the district, with the district collector responsible for its management.
