About This Scholarship

Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore, in association with Sir Ratan Tata Trust, invites applications for the SRTT Visiting Fellowship 2020. This fellowship is designed for research scholars who wish to undertake focused research studies at the Institute.

Proposals are accepted from scholars intending to conduct research for a period not exceeding three months, specifically within the broad field of social sciences. This initiative aims to foster advanced research and scholarly contributions.

The fellowship offers substantial support to selected candidates. The Institute endeavors to protect their actual salary during the fellowship period and will also reimburse their travel costs twice, covering their journey from their place of residence to Bangalore and back.

Applications for this fellowship are open year-round, providing flexible opportunities for interested and eligible researchers to apply at their convenience.

The selection process involves a thorough scrutiny of all submitted applications. Scholars who are ultimately selected for the program are required to participate in two key academic presentations:
• A project initiation seminar before the commencement of their study.
• A completion seminar once their draft research report is ready.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the SRTT Visiting Fellowship, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:

• Be a research scholar who wishes to undertake research studies at the Institute.
• The proposed research study must be for a period of three months.
• The field of study must fall within the domain of social sciences.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents along with their application:

Bio-data and any other relevant personal particulars.
• A detailed proposal outlining the proposed research work and methodology. This should clearly articulate the research questions, approach, and expected outcomes.
• A comprehensive budget for the study. It is important to note that this budget must not exceed INR 75,000.
