About This Scholarship
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay invites applications for its Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship. This prestigious fellowship is open to PhD degree holders and research scholars who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting examination. It offers opportunities across various academic departments, centres, schools, and inter-disciplinary programs within IIT Bombay.

Selected fellows are eligible for a competitive monthly stipend and other benefits, which vary based on post-PhD experience:
• Fresh PhD with no post-PhD experience: INR 65,000 per month
• PhD + 1 year of post-PhD experience: INR 68,000 per month
• PhD + 2 years of post-PhD experience: INR 71,000 per month
Additionally, a non-lapsable contingency grant of INR 15,000 per year is provided. While on-campus accommodation is not provided, HRA @ 24% of the salary will be given.
Departments evaluate applications through a rigorous process, similar to their faculty selection procedures. A yearly report of progress and a seminar, evaluated by a departmental committee, will be conducted to assess the fellows' contributions.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the IIT Bombay Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
• Be a fresh PhD degree holder.
• OR, be a research scholar who has submitted his/her thesis and is awaiting examination.
