About This Scholarship
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Berhampur (IISER Berhampur) invites applications for the Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship (PDRF) 2025-26. This prestigious fellowship supports post-doctoral research across various departments, including Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Earth & Environmental Sciences, and Computer Science.
The fellowship aims to attract talented researchers for advanced studies and contributions to specific scientific fields. Selected candidates will receive a competitive monthly fellowship along with other benefits.
The financial benefits for selected candidates are structured as follows:
Research Associates (For candidates who have submitted a thesis but Ph.D. degree is awaited): ₹42,000 per month and HRA
Postdoctoral Research Fellows (Up to 1 year experience): ₹58,000 and HRA
Postdoctoral Research Fellows (More than 1 year and up to 2 years experience): ₹61,000 and HRA
Postdoctoral Research Fellows (More than 2 years experience): ₹67,000 and HRA
Note: Ph.D. holders will be appointed as Postdoctoral Research Fellows (PDRFs), initially for 1 year, renewable annually for up to 3 years based on performance evaluations. Those without a Ph.D. will be appointed as Research Associates (RAs).
The application deadline for this fellowship is December 31, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the IISER Berhampur Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, an applicant must:
• Be an Indian or foreign national.
• Be below the age of 35 years on the date of application.
• Hold a Ph.D. degree in the respective field of study.
• Must have a good academic record.
• Must have 5 years of experience after obtaining the Ph.D. degree.
The selection of candidates will be based on the fulfillment of these specified eligibility criteria.
