About This Scholarship
The Kendriya Sainik Board Secretariat, under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, invites applications for the Financial Assistance for Vocational Training of Widows of ESM 2019. This scheme is open to widows of Ex-servicemen of rank up to Havaldar or equivalent.
The primary objective of this initiative is to provide essential financial assistance to widows, enabling them to gain vocational training and achieve self-sufficiency. The scheme aims to help them settle in life through acquiring valuable skills.
Selected scholars will receive significant support, including vocational training itself. Upon successful completion of the vocational training, beneficiaries will also be awarded a one-time grant of up to INR 20,000. This grant is designed to further assist them in establishing a stable livelihood.
Eligibility Criteria
An applicant must meet the following criteria:
• Be a widow of an Ex-serviceman ranking up to Havaldar or equivalent.
• Have successfully completed the said vocational training.
• Have been recommended by the respective Zila Sainik Board (ZSB).
Required Documents
The following documents are required to be attached along with the application:
• Complete Service Discharge Book/Certificate.
• Copy of Widow I-Card.
• Certificate issued by the institute after the completion of training.
• Certificate issued by ZSWO stating that the widow, after vocational training, is gainfully employed.
• Details of Bank A/c Number (in PNB/SBI only) and IFS Code.

2. Step 2: Log in to the portal with relevant information.
3. Step 3: Attach the required documents as specified.
4. Step 4: Print the completed application form and submit it at the respective Zila Sainik Welfare Office (ZSWO).
