About This Scholarship

The e-Medhabruti Scholarship Scheme, Odisha 2025-26, is an initiative by the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from the state who wish to pursue undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), technical, or professional courses.

Selected candidates can receive a scholarship of up to ₹20,000 per annum. The application deadline for this scheme is October 9, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the e-Medhabruti Scholarship Scheme, candidates must meet the following general criteria:

• Be a domicile of Odisha.
• Be admitted to an educational institution recognized by regulatory authorities such as AICTE, MCI, and UGC.
• Have an annual family income of less than ₹8,00,000 from all sources.
• Students must apply for the scholarship in the first year of their respective degree course.

Courses Applicable under the scholarship scheme:

UG Merit: This includes 3-year degree courses such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., and specialized programs like BBA, BCA, BJMC, etc., all having a duration of 3 years.

PG Merit: This covers postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, and other non-professional postgraduate disciplines.

Technical and Professional Merit: This category includes undergraduate and postgraduate professional degree programs and integrated courses. Examples are B.E./B.Tech, MBBS, BDA, BHMS, BAMS, B.Pharma, B.Sc. (Nursing), B.Sc. (Agriculture), MBA, MCA, M.Tech, Integrated M.Sc., and other courses recognized by regulatory bodies like AICTE, MCI, DCI, CCIM, CCH, INC, UGC, etc. For a comprehensive list of eligible courses, kindly refer to Appendix II in the 'Scholarship Guidelines'.

The following students are ineligible for this scholarship:

• Students enrolled in open universities or pursuing higher education through distance learning or correspondence courses.
• Students who are already receiving scholarships under any other state or central government schemes.
• Students enrolled in diploma courses.
• Students enrolled in M.Phil, PhD, B.Ed., and M.Ed. degrees.
• Students pursuing their education abroad.
• Students who have already completed one technical or professional course but are taking admission to another course at the same level.
• Students who fail to receive validation from their respective principal or educational institution.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare the following documents for the scholarship application:

• Aadhaar card.
• Aadhaar-seeded bank account details.
• Domicile certificate issued by a competent authority, specifically a Tahasildar or Additional Tahasildar.
• Family income certificate issued by a Revenue Officer (RO), not below the rank of Tahasildar or Additional Tahasildar.
• Transcripts or marksheets of the last qualifying examination.
• College or institute ID card. If an ID card is unavailable, a Letter of Undertaking authenticated by the concerned educational institution may suffice. This letter should specify the academic session, course, name, duration, and the student's roll or registration number.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following these steps:

1. Click on the 'Apply Now' button on the official scholarship website.
2. Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to complete the registration. (Note: If you are already registered, log in using your Gmail, mobile number, or email ID).
3. Navigate to the respective scholarship tab and click on the 'Apply Now' button for the e-Medhabruti Scholarship.
4. Click on 'Register Here' located under the 'Sign In' button. (Note: Applicants who are already registered can log in using their valid credentials).
5. Carefully read all the instructions, tick the terms and conditions checkbox, and click on 'Proceed' to continue.
6. Provide your Aadhaar number and verify it to complete the registration process.
7. Once successfully registered, log in to the portal.
8. Fill in the application form accurately, upload the required photos and necessary documents, and finally click on the 'Apply' button to complete the submission process.

UG Merit Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

For the UG Merit Scholarship, candidates must also fulfill these specific requirements:

• Have passed Class 12 from the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, or an equivalent examination.
• Have secured 55% or more marks from an institution recognized by the Central Board of Higher Secondary Education (CBSE) or the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE).
• Be pursuing a regular degree course or a three-year degree course in any of the recognized institutes, colleges, or universities.
