About This Scholarship

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), UK, in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, is offering the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship, UK 2026. This scholarship is designed for students aspiring to pursue full-time Master’s degree courses commencing from September/October 2026 at a UK University.

The scholarship aims to empower talented and motivated individuals by providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills for sustainable development, thereby supporting their academic journey in the UK.

Selected candidates will receive comprehensive financial support, including:
• Full tuition fees
• A generous stipend (living allowance) of up to GBP 1,781 per month
• Round-trip airfare
• Warm clothing allowance (if applicable)
• Study travel grant
• Child allowances for widowed, divorced, or single parents (GBP 622 per month for the first child, and GBP 154 per month for the second and third child under 16 years).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
• be a citizen or permanent resident of India
• be available to start their academic studies in the UK by September 2026
• not be able to afford to study in the UK without a scholarship
• hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours, or a second class degree (2:2), and a relevant postgraduate qualification by September 2026

Note:
• Students from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) must have an annual family income less than or equal to ₹4,50,000.
• Scholarships are tenable at any approved UK university or higher education institution with which the CSC has a part-funding agreement for a specific programme of study. The full list is available at: 'cscuk.fcdo.gov.uk/uk-universities'.
• Candidates who have already been abroad for studies/training/specialisation, either on scholarships or on their own, for a period exceeding six months, are eligible to apply if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years as of 10th September 2025, after returning from abroad.

• Academic transcripts must be translated into English if not in English.
• The reference letters should be in PDF format, signed and on institutional letterhead, or an email clearly showing the sender’s details.
