About This Scholarship

The Chevening Scholarships 2026-27 offer a prestigious opportunity for Indian students to pursue a one-year master's degree in any subject at any UK university. This fully-funded scholarship, provided by the Government of the United Kingdom in collaboration with UK Universities, is designed for individuals demonstrating outstanding leadership and influencing skills.

Selected candidates will receive comprehensive benefits, including:

• A monthly stipend
• Travel costs to and from the UK
• An arrival allowance
• A homeward departure allowance
• The cost of one visa application
• A travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:
• Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory, including India.
• Hold an undergraduate degree that enables entry into a postgraduate program at a UK university before applying. Note: This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK, but can vary depending on the course and university choice.
• Have at least two years of work experience (equivalent to 2,800 hours).
• Return to India for a minimum of two years after the scholarship ends.

Additional Notes:
• Applicants who hold refugee status in a Chevening-eligible country are eligible for a scholarship.
• Only work experience gained after the date of graduation will count towards the two-year requirement.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
• A valid passport/National ID card
• University transcripts and degrees (undergraduate, postgraduate)
• An unconditional offer letter from a UK university
• Names of two referees who know the applicant in a professional or academic capacity
• English language test score

How to Apply

Eligible candidates can follow these steps to apply:
1. Access the application portal via the official website.
2. Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details. If already registered, log in using your Gmail, Mobile number, or Email ID.
3. Navigate to the 'Your Country/Territory' option at the bottom of the page and choose 'India'. Then, under the 'Select Your Awards' section, choose 'Scholarship' and click on the 'Search' button.
4. Navigate to the 'Apply Today' button.
5. Select India from the list of countries, then select 'Chevening Scholarship 2026-2027' and click 'Continue'.
6. Fill in the required information to register and click 'Continue'. A verification email will be sent to the provided email address.
7. Open the 'Application Portal' and take the eligibility test to receive an email for the access code.
8. Enter the valid access code to receive an email with the application link on the portal.
9. Fill in all required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application.
