About This Scholarship

The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship 2026-27 is a prestigious opportunity for mid-career professionals in the arts and culture sector. This program is a collaboration between the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Clore Leadership Programme.

It offers an exceptional chance to undertake an individually tailored leadership program within the UK. Selected fellows will benefit from comprehensive financial support covering various expenses.

The fellowship aims to provide a set budget to cover the following for the selected fellows:
Travels within the UK
Accommodation in the UK
Living expenses in the UK
Course and conference fees
Training and development costs
• A 4-6 week secondment period at a cultural institution in the UK
• An individually tailored fellowship learning plan, which may include participation in professional development activities such as courses and conferences.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship 2026-27, applicants must meet specific criteria designed to identify promising cultural leaders.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Be a citizen of India.
• Not hold British or dual-British citizenship.
• Intend to return to India after the completion of their studies/fellowship.
• Possess a good working knowledge of English.
• Hold a degree equivalent to at least a UK second-class honours degree (minimum of 65-70% marks in Indian standard) or have equivalent professional training and/or experience.
• Have completed at least five years of work experience or its equivalent by the end of 2025.
• Work in relevant sectors, including:
• Visual and performing arts
• Museums, libraries, archives, and heritage
• Film and digital media
• Cultural policy and practice
• Have not previously received or currently be receiving financial benefit from an HMG-funded scholarship or fellowship within the past five years.

Important Notes:
• Employees or relatives of employees of the UK government, the British Council, a sponsoring UK university, or a staff member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities are ineligible for this fellowship.

Fellows will be selected based on their merit and strict fulfillment of all stated eligibility criteria.
