About This Scholarship
The BioWISE Scholarship 2025 is a prestigious initiative offered by the BeST Cluster in collaboration with Biocon Foundation and the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS). This program is specifically designed to empower and support women from Karnataka who are pursuing advanced studies and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), with a particular focus on the life sciences.
Selected students will receive a comprehensive support package designed to foster their academic and professional growth. This includes:
• Scholarship support for their academic journey, alleviating financial burdens.
• Dedicated mentorship from leading experts in various scientific and technological fields, providing invaluable guidance and insights.
• Hands-on exposure and numerous career guidance opportunities, preparing them for successful careers in STEM.
Candidates for the BioWISE Scholarship will be rigorously selected based on several key factors:
• Their strong academic performance throughout their studies.
• Their demonstrated research interests and potential for significant contributions.
• Their socio-economic background, ensuring support reaches those who need it most.
• Preference will be given to first-generation learners, promoting educational equity.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, an applicant must:
• be a female student currently in the final year of Post-Graduate studies, or have completed a degree in the last year
• have consistently demonstrated strong academic performance (minimum 75% marks in previous studies)
• be enrolled in or graduated from a Tier 2 or Tier 3 college/university in Karnataka
• demonstrate interest in applied research
• have an annual family income not exceeding ₹6,00,000
Note:
• Students or relatives affiliated with Biocon Group, BeST, or NCBS are not eligible.
• Preference will be given to first-generation learners.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents as part of their scholarship application:
• Academic transcripts and certificates from previous studies.
• Proof of income, verifying the annual family income.
• A self-declaration form.
• Aadhar card for identification purposes.
• A recent passport-size photograph.
