The African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is inviting prospective postdoctoral fellows to apply for the AIMS Postdoctoral Research Fellows Program, Rwanda. Benefits of the Program:
• Financial support of up to CAD 32,000 per annum, for a maximum duration of two years, with potential for extension based on approval.
• Coverage for various costs, including a return flight ticket from the candidate’s home/institution to the AIMS Research Centre, tuition fees, visa application, accommodation, living support, and health insurance.
• Funding will also be provided for fellows and their supervisors to attend one research school held at AIMS Rwanda, promoting further learning and networking opportunities.
Selection Criteria:
Applications will undergo a rigorous shortlisting process conducted by a specialized committee. This committee comprises expert researchers from AIMS, complemented by at least one external expert and one representative from the AIMS Global Secretariat, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation. Successful candidates will be required to commence their research at AIMS within three months of receiving their official acceptance letter.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the AIMS Postdoctoral Research Fellows Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• International Student Status: The applicant must be an international student.
• Academic Qualification: Possess a PhD degree or a recognized equivalent in any field related to mathematical sciences.
• Research Interest: Demonstrate a keen interest in undertaking research within the climate change sciences and its related areas.
• Methodological Interest: Be interested in mathematical modelling as a research approach.
Important Notes:
• Supervisor Affiliation: One of the fellow's supervisors must hold an affiliation with AIMS.
• Research Location: Applicants are expected to be open-minded and willing to conduct their research at their preferred AIMS Research Centre.
