About This Scholarship

The AICTE Post-doctoral Fellowship (PDF) Scheme 2024-25 is a prestigious program launched by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Its primary aim is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students, enabling them to pursue advanced research and studies within specified fields at AICTE-approved institutions.

Each year, AICTE awards 200 fellowships to deserving candidates. The scheme offers substantial financial support, including a monthly fellowship of ₹65,000. Beyond the monthly stipend, selected fellows also receive an annual contingency grant of ₹50,000 to cover miscellaneous research-related expenses. Additionally, House Rent Allowance (HRA) is provided as per central government norms.

The fellowship tenure is initially 1 year, with a possibility of extension for an additional year. This extension is contingent upon a satisfactory evaluation of the fellow's research work by a panel of experts. It is important to note that no further extensions are possible beyond this second year. All awards are disbursed directly into the candidates' Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). For comprehensive details, applicants should refer to the official ‘Fellowship Guidelines’ document.

A unique aspect of this fellowship is its flexible application window: candidates are eligible to apply at any time throughout the year, removing typical deadline pressures.

The selection process is rigorous, with the AICTE committee evaluating applicants' research proposals and their academic accomplishments at the Ph.D. level. Candidates are chosen based on the merit and potential impact of their proposed research.
