The AICTE Doctoral Fellowship (ADF) Scheme 2024-25 is a comprehensive program initiated by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The primary objective of this fellowship is to foster a robust research and knowledge culture within AICTE institutions, thereby developing a strong academic ecosystem.

Selected candidates benefit significantly from this scheme. They receive a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of ₹37,000 per month, which increases to a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) of ₹42,000 per month. Additionally, fellows are granted an annual contingency amount of ₹15,000 to cover miscellaneous research expenses, along with a House Rent Allowance (HRA) determined by Central Government norms.

Applicants can apply for this fellowship at any time throughout the year, provided they have completed the admissions process for the current academic year. Selection for the fellowship is based on merit and the fulfillment of all specified eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the AICTE Doctoral Fellowship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• The applicant must be under 30 years of age at the time of admission to the doctoral program.
• Admission must be secured for a Ph.D. degree in one of the following courses approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to a postgraduate level:
• Engineering and Technology
• Management/ Design
• Planning
• Applied Arts
• Crafts and Design
• Computer Application
• The candidate must have successfully completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree (or a five-year integrated/dual degree leading to a postgraduate degree) in one of the following fields, as per the conditions prescribed by the admitted university:
• Engineering and Technology
• Management
• Design
• Planning
• Applied Arts
• Crafts and Design
• Hotel Management and Catering Technology
• Computer Application

Important Notes:

• For Hotel Management positions, candidates are required to hold an undergraduate degree (UG) in Hotel Management and Catering Technology approved by AICTE, along with a Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• Post Graduate candidates in Applied Science who wish to pursue a Ph.D. program at an AICTE-approved institution are also eligible to apply.
Age relaxation will be provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories:
• Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) will receive an age relaxation of 5 years.
• Applicants from Other Backward Classes (OBC) will be granted a 3-year age relaxation.
