About This Scholarship
The AICTE Doctoral Fellowship (ADF) Scheme 2024-25 is a prestigious program launched by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It is designed for full-time research scholars pursuing doctoral degrees in specified programs under AICTE's purview. The primary aim of this fellowship is to cultivate a robust research and knowledge culture within AICTE institutions, thereby developing a strong academic ecosystem.
Selected candidates will receive substantial financial support throughout their doctoral journey. This includes a monthly fellowship, an annual contingency grant, and House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per government norms.
Benefits of the Fellowship:
• Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): ₹37,000 per month for initial years.
• Senior Research Fellowship (SRF): ₹42,000 per month after meeting specified criteria.
• Annual grant for miscellaneous expenses: ₹15,000 to cover research-related costs.
• House Rent Allowance (HRA): Provided as per Central Government norms, depending on the city of study.
Candidates are eligible to apply for the fellowship at any time throughout the year after completing the admissions process for the academic year. The selection process is merit-based, ensuring that only the most deserving candidates who fulfill all eligibility criteria are awarded the fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
• Be under 30 years of age at the time of admission.
• Be admitted to a Ph.D. degree in one of the following courses approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to postgraduate level:
• Engineering and Technology
• Management/ Design
• Planning
• Applied Arts
• Crafts and Design
• Computer Application
• Have successfully completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree (or a five-year integrated/dual degree leading to a postgraduate degree) in engineering and technology, management, design, planning, applied arts, crafts and design, hotel management and catering technology, or computer application, as per the conditions prescribed by the admitted university.
Important Notes:
• For Hotel Management positions, candidates must hold an undergraduate degree (UG) in Hotel Management and Catering Technology approved by AICTE, along with a Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Applied Science Post Graduate candidates willing to be admitted into a Ph.D. program at an AICTE-approved institution are also eligible.
• Age Relaxation:
• Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) will be eligible for an age relaxation of 5 years.
• Applicants from Other Backward Classes (OBC) will receive a 3-year age relaxation.

• National examination qualifications/marksheets (e.g., GATE, NET scores)
• Caste certificate (if applicable, for age relaxation or reservations)
• Disability certificate (if applicable, for age relaxation or reservations)
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the fellowship by following these steps:

3. Navigate to the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and complete the registration process. If already registered, log in using your registered email ID.
4. Fill in all the required details in the application form, upload the necessary documents (as applicable), and then submit your application.
Alternatively, universities can register for the scheme and nominate students directly for the fellowship. Students interested in this nomination category should contact their respective university administration or research department. They can provide specific information about their internal application process and deadlines, as universities may have additional requirements for nomination.
