The Directorate of Medical Education West Bengal published the NEET PG 2025 counselling brochure. The new policy mandates a Rs 5 lakh bond penalty for discontinuing MD/MS courses. Open category candidates must also complete three years of mandatory service after course completion. Round 1 applications for admission begin on November 6 .
The updated guidelines impact candidates seeking admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in West Bengal. These rules cover financial penalties for early course withdrawal and service obligations post-graduation.
Bond Policy Details
Candidates admitted to MD or MS courses face a Rs 5 lakh penalty if they discontinue their studies. This penalty applies whether discontinuation occurs before course completion or after admission. Additionally, open category candidates completing MD or MS programs must serve for three years in a state facility.
For those opting for PG Diploma seats, the bond penalty for discontinuation is Rs 2 lakh . PG Diploma students in the open category must complete two years of mandatory service after course completion.
The new policy currently includes no discontinuity bond for DNB (Diplomate of National Board) courses. DNB post-diploma two-year degree seats are not part of this NEET PG counselling process.
All admitted candidates must submit a bond during admission. This bond, covering discontinuation and indemnity, requires submission on non-judicial stamp paper valued at no less than Rs 100. Additional demy paper may be required.
NRI Quota Guidelines
DME West Bengal advises extreme caution when selecting the NRI category. Candidates allotted an NRI seat will undergo physical verification of their documents. Insufficient, inadequate, or invalid documents will result in immediate cancellation of candidature.
A cancelled candidate cannot reapply under a different category. They will be removed from the entire counselling process. Candidates opting for the NRI quota cannot later choose state or management quota counselling processes.
