West Bengal NEET PG 2025 counselling Round 1 registration closes today, November 20 . The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC), responsible for postgraduate medical admissions in the state, revised the counselling schedule. Seat allotment results for Round 1 are expected on November 27 . Candidates seeking postgraduate medical admissions in West Bengal must complete their registration and fee payment via the official website, wbmcc.nic.in, by the end of today.
The revised schedule impacts all subsequent rounds of counselling for Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and PG Diploma courses. Following the closure of registration and fee payment, the WBMCC will publish the list of registered candidates and the detailed seat matrix for Round 1 on November 21 . This merit list will identify eligible candidates for the next stage.
Candidates whose names appear on the merit list can then participate in the choice filling and locking process. This crucial step allows eligible students to select their preferred courses and colleges from the available seats. The window for choice filling and locking is set from November 21 to 24 , after which no changes will be permitted.
Upon the announcement of seat allotment results on November 27 , candidates who secure a seat must act promptly. The reporting and admission period for Round 1 is scheduled from November 28 to December 3 . During this time, candidates must report to their assigned colleges with all necessary documents to confirm their admission and secure their postgraduate medical or diploma seat.
West Bengal NEET PG Bond Policy
The West Bengal NEET PG 2025 counselling framework includes a mandatory bond policy for admitted students. This policy addresses situations where candidates opt to discontinue their course after securing a seat. Candidates discontinuing Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Master of Surgery (MS) courses, either before or after formal admission, will incur a bond penalty of Rs 3 lakh .
For those admitted to postgraduate diploma courses, the penalty for discontinuation is set at Rs 2 lakh . This financial obligation aims to deter premature exits from medical programs. Students must submit a discontinuation and indemnity bond at the time of admission. This legal document requires a non-judicial stamp paper of at least Rs 100 value, along with any additional demy paper specified by the college.
