A junior high school teacher died by suicide Monday in Jalaun, police confirmed. He shot himself with his licensed firearm. The teacher’s family alleges school management harassment led to his death. Police are investigating the claim.
Police identified the teacher as Aniruddh Kumar , 55. Kumar, an assistant teacher at a Gopalpura village junior high school, shot himself at his home around 10:00 AM. He was critically injured and died en route to the hospital, said Circle Officer Ambuj Yadav.
Investigation Underway
Authorities sent Kumar’s body for postmortem examination. Kamrendra Pal, Kumar’s son, submitted a written complaint. He stated school authorities harassed his father, leading to the extreme step. Officer Yadav confirmed the matter is under investigation. Further action will follow the probe’s completion.
