Speaking at the inauguration of a computer lab and website at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir in Arjunganj, Lucknow on Monday, Patel highlighted the importance of early learning. She also advocated for honoring philanthropists who contribute to education.

Patel stated that children are the nation’s future. She noted that schools are responsible for providing foundational education, values, and discipline from an early age. She praised Vidya Bharati for fulfilling this role effectively. Patel also stressed the importance of teaching children about Indian culture, traditions, epic literature like the Ramayana and Mahabharata, and the scientific achievements of ancient sages.

The Governor acknowledged the necessity of modern education, including the study of artificial intelligence. However, she cautioned against neglecting India’s cultural heritage and traditions. Patel observed that India is making significant progress in a competitive global environment. She credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for driving development.

Patel explained that children readily absorb information and behaviors taught to them in their formative years. She cited research indicating that lessons learned by children up to the age of eight profoundly shape their personalities. This learning applies to both positive and negative influences.

Universities must recognize that students entering higher education begin their learning journey in Anganwadis and primary schools. Patel called on universities to maintain contact with these institutions. She suggested regular visits and the organization of cultural and educational activities. This connection aims to support early childhood education initiatives.
Support for Children in Care
The Governor expressed concern regarding the conditions in children’s homes. She reported that Jan Bhavan has adopted the Lucknow Children’s Home. Efforts are underway to provide education and skill development opportunities for the children residing there.
