The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) will begin its High School and Intermediate examinations on February 18, 2026 . Over 5.2 million students are registered to take the exams across the state. A state-level control room has been established in Lucknow to monitor the examination process. Minister of state for secondary education Gulab Devi will inaugurate the control room on February 17 at 3 p.m.
Exam Oversight
The control room is located at the camp office of the Director of Education (Secondary) on 18 Park Road, Lucknow. Director of secondary education Mahendra Dev stated that the facility will oversee examination activities statewide. Online surveillance and regular reviews will be employed throughout the exam period. The control room will manage information flow, monitor law and order, and issue instructions for smooth exam conduct.
Student Registration Data
A total of 52,30,297 students have registered for the 2026 UP Board examinations. This figure makes it one of Asia’s largest school examination events. The examinations will take place at 8,033 centres throughout Uttar Pradesh.
Class 10 (High School)
27,50,945 students are registered for the Class 10 exams. This includes 14,38,682 boys and 13,12,263 girls. High school registrations have seen a slight increase compared to the previous year.
Class 12 (Intermediate)
24,79,352 students are registered for the Class 12 exams. This comprises 13,03,012 boys and 11,76,340 girls. Intermediate registrations have decreased by 2,25,657 students from 2025 levels.

The UP Board exams are scheduled to commence on February 18, 2026 . Exact end dates for both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations are expected shortly.
