UP Board Exams 2026: 48 Lakh Students Appear, 5 Impersonators Held

Nearly 48.23 lakh students took the Uttar Pradesh Board Class 10 and 12 exams on February 20. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) reported that 2.98 lakh students were absent. These exams cover subjects like Social Science for Class 10 and specific agriculture papers for Class 12.

The total number of registered students for the UP Board Class 10 and 12 exams in 2026 was 51,22,005. Of these, 25,96,897 appeared in the first shift, and 22,26,149 appeared in the second shift.

Exam Irregularities Reported

Despite security measures, five individuals were caught impersonating students during the February 20 exams. Three students were also apprehended for using unfair means. This brings the total number of cheating cases to seven so far.

Impersonation incidents occurred in Gorakhpur, Pratapgarh, Jhansi, Kannauj, and Etah districts. A total of 11 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered regarding these exam irregularities.

Sanskrit Board Exams Proceed Smoothly

Exams conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad on February 20 reported no cheating cases. In the first shift, 34,884 out of 40,851 registered students appeared. The second shift saw 13,151 students appear out of 13,746 registered candidates.

Upcoming Exams

On February 21, approximately 41,629 students are scheduled for Hindi, Pali, Prakrit, and Nepali papers in the first shift. An additional 14,156 students will appear in the second shift for these subjects.
