UP Atal Residential School Entrance Exam 2026-27

Over 21,000 students took the entrance exam today for admission to Uttar Pradesh’s Atal Residential Schools for the 2026-27 academic year. The exam, held across 89 centers, determines entry into Class 6 and Class 9.

Exam Details and Seat Availability

A total of 21,072 students participated in the Atal Residential School entrance exam. Of these, 12,018 students appeared for Class 6 admissions, while 9,054 students competed for Class 9 seats.

The state government is offering a total of 2,880 seats for Class 6 and 1,140 seats for Class 9. The exam was administered using a standardized question paper prepared at the state level to ensure fairness and quality across all locations.

Atal Residential School Initiative

The Atal Residential School Scheme is a Uttar Pradesh government initiative. It provides quality residential education to children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, including those from construction worker families.

These schools offer students free accommodation, food, uniforms, and learning materials. They also provide co-curricular activities and modern educational resources for holistic development. Education follows the CBSE curriculum.

Exam Administration and Facilities

District administrations, labor department officials, nominated nodal officers, and exam center superintendents managed the examination process. Arrangements were made to ensure security, confidentiality, and discipline at all centers.

The schools are equipped with modern facilities, including classrooms, hostels, laboratories, playgrounds, and digital learning resources.
