The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the UGC NET Scorecard 2025 for the December session on February 4, 2026 . Candidates can access their results online.
To view the scorecard, candidates must log in using their Application Number and Date of Birth . The results are for the December 2025 examination cycle.
Approximately 7,35,592 candidates took the UGC NET exam. The computer-based test covered 85 subjects. It was conducted between December 31, 2025, and January 7, 2026.
Exam Purpose and Eligibility
The UGC NET exam qualifies candidates for two main opportunities. These are for Assistant Professor positions and for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). It also serves as a pathway for PhD admissions.
According to UGC rules, only 6% of candidates qualify for Assistant Professor posts. This is subject to category-wise reservation policies.
Qualifying Marks
The NTA set the minimum qualifying marks. For the General and General-EWS categories, candidates need 40% in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 . For reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwD, and Third Gender), the requirement is 35% in both papers .
