The Tamil Nadu SSLC Class 10 board examinations began today, March 11, 2026 . The Directorate of Government Examinations is administering the exams. Approximately 9.09 lakh students are taking the exams across the state. The examinations will continue until April 6, 2026 .
Exam Schedule and Timings
All exams are scheduled for a single morning shift. The exam period runs daily from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM . Students receive 15 minutes to read the question paper. This reading time is from 10:00 AM to 10:15 AM. The actual writing time starts at 10:15 AM and concludes at 1:15 PM.

Exam Day Instructions for Students
Students must arrive at their designated exam centres at least one hour before the scheduled start time. Entry into the exam hall is permitted 30 minutes prior to the exam. This allows students time to fill in necessary details on their answer booklets.
Candidates must bring a hard copy of their hall ticket to the exam centre. All study materials are prohibited inside the exam hall. This includes books, notes, and cheat sheets.
Electronic devices are strictly banned. This includes mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, and Bluetooth headphones. Calculators and log tables are also not permitted. Students will not be allowed entry if they arrive late.
Exiting the exam hall before the conclusion of the exam is prohibited. Any student found engaging in malpractices or cheating will be immediately disqualified. They will not be permitted to continue with their examinations.
