Tamil Nadu Class 12 results will be released on May 8, 2026 . The state’s Directorate of Government Examinations (TNDGE) is overseeing the board exams for over 17.61 lakh students across SSLC, Class 11, and Class 12 levels. The Class 12 exams commenced on March 2, 2026, beginning with the language paper.
Exam Statistics and Administration
A total of 8,27,475 students are appearing for the Class 12 examinations. This includes 7.99 lakh regular students and 27,783 private candidates. These exams are being conducted across 3,412 designated centers. The School Education Department has deployed over 49,000 instructors. Approximately 5,000 flying squads are monitoring centers to prevent malpractice and ensure fair examination processes.
For the first time, accounting students are permitted to use non-programmable calculators. Special arrangements have also been made for 281 prisoners taking the exams. The Class 10 (SSLC) exams are scheduled to begin on March 11, 2026.

Exam Day Guidelines
Students should report to their examination centers by 9:15 AM. The question paper will be read from 10:00 AM to 10:10 AM. Detailed checks will follow until 10:15 AM. Hall tickets and stationery are permitted.
Allowed items for accounting students include non-programmable calculators. Prohibited items are mobile phones, smartwatches, and all other programmable electronic devices. Strict adherence to these rules is mandatory.
