Telangana NEET PG 2025 Merit List Out: 3,158 Eligible

HYDERABAD – The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has released the final merit list for Telangana NEET PG 2025. This list determines eligibility for admission to postgraduate medical (MD, MS) and PG diploma courses across the state. A total of 3,158 candidates have now been declared eligible to participate in Round 1 state counselling.

Candidates on the final merit list secured NEET PG 2025 scores ranging from 664 to 235. These specific scores establish their eligibility to compete for admission. Seats are allocated under both the competent authority quota and the management quota within Telangana’s medical institutions.

Eligibility Status Confirmed

The publication of the final merit list follows a review of initial applications. The provisional merit list earlier identified 3,047 candidates as eligible. It also marked 285 applicants as ineligible for admission. Primary reasons for initial ineligibility included the non-submission of necessary certificates and discrepancies in local status documentation.

Subsequently, 111 candidates submitted new or updated certificates to KNRUHS. This allowed them to rectify previous issues. These candidates have successfully claimed their eligibility for both non-service and in-service categories, increasing the total pool of qualified applicants for counselling.

Key Admission Policies

The Telangana government recently introduced a significant reservation policy for postgraduate medical admissions. This policy mandates an 85% reservation for local students. This applies specifically to management quota seats available in private medical colleges throughout the state. The measure aims to support local candidates pursuing higher medical education.

Additionally, the Telangana NEET PG bond policy remains in effect. This policy stipulates a substantial financial penalty for withdrawals. Any candidate who discontinues their admission after the second phase of counselling, or at any point thereafter, must pay a penalty of Rs 50 lakh to the university.

Seat Availability Overview

Telangana offers a fixed number of postgraduate medical and dental seats for the 2025 academic year. There are 318 postgraduate medical seats available across various specializations. Furthermore, the state has 70 postgraduate dental seats open for admissions.

Counselling Process and Schedule

KNRUHS will soon publish the comprehensive schedule for Round 1 state counselling. All eligible candidates must regularly visit the official university website, knruhs.telangana.gov.in, for the precise dates and detailed instructions. The university portal will provide specific timings for registration, choice filling, and seat allotment.

Following the release of the schedule, all eligible candidates will proceed to the next critical step: filling their choices. Candidates must select their preferred courses and colleges, listing them in their strict order of preference. Accurate and timely submission of these choices is essential for the allotment process.

National Timeline and Delays

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) oversees All India Quota (AIQ) counselling for postgraduate medical courses. The MCC has set a national deadline of December 7 for the completion of all state-level Round 1 counselling processes.

The delay in KNRUHS publishing its specific Round 1 schedule for Telangana raises concerns. This could potentially impact the state’s ability to meet the national timeline. The admission process for this year has already faced prior disruptions, including legal disputes and earlier delayed announcements, adding to timeline pressures.
