RAIGARH, CHHATTISGARH – A 20-year-old female student died by suicide in her university hostel room on Saturday. The incident occurred at OP Jindal University, located in the Punjipathra area of Raigarh district.
Princy Kumari, a second-year B.Tech student, was identified as the deceased. Police confirmed her death on Monday. Initial reports suggest she hanged herself from a ceiling fan inside her hostel room.

Princy Kumari’s death came to light after her family members were unable to contact her. Repeated attempts to reach her by phone were unsuccessful. Following this, the family contacted the hostel warden to check on her well-being.
The hostel warden proceeded to Princy Kumari’s room. Upon finding her, the warden immediately notified local police authorities. This initiated official investigation procedures into the incident.
Upon arrival, police found the hostel room door locked from the inside. Officers were required to forcibly break down the door to gain access. This step allowed them to enter the room and secure the scene.
The Suicide Note
Investigators discovered a suicide note within the room. The note was purportedly written by Princy Kumari herself. Its contents conveyed a message of regret to her parents.
