SSC CGL 2025 Answer Key Delayed Past October 15 Deadline

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) faces significant criticism after failing to release the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2025 Tier-1 answer key by its own stated deadline of October 15 . Thousands of candidates nationwide express frustration over the continued delays and lack of clear communication from the commission.

This missed deadline follows a series of exam disruptions, technical glitches, and a re-examination, adding to the anxieties of aspirants for government positions.

SSC Misses Answer Key Deadline

SSC had assured candidates the official answer keys for CGL 2025 Tier-1 would be uploaded by October 15 . This commitment was also reflected in an official Press Information Bureau (PIB) statement, which specified that the process for challenging questions would open on October 15 .

As of today, no answer keys have been published, leaving nearly 13.5 lakh candidates in suspense. The absence of a new timeline or official explanation further fuels dissatisfaction among those awaiting their results.

Inconsistent Communication from SSC

The commission recently launched an official X (formerly Twitter) handle, @SSC_GoI, intended to provide verified information. However, this platform is now drawing backlash for perceived ambiguity and inconsistency.

Following the re-examination conducted on October 14 , SSC posted on its X handle, stating, “The challenge for CGLE-2025 will be made live subsequently in a day or two.” This statement directly conflicted with the earlier October 15 assurance, causing confusion among candidates.

Candidates report that SSC has restricted comments on some of its X posts, preventing direct engagement and clarification requests.

Exam Logistics and Issues

A total of 28 lakh candidates registered for CGLE 2025. Approximately 13.5 lakh appeared for the examination. The exam took place across 126 cities , at 255 exam centers , over 45 shifts .

Due to technical snags, SSC announced a re-exam for affected candidates. This re-examination was successfully conducted on October 14 at 44 centers nationwide. Affected candidates received individual notifications via email and SMS.

SSC implemented a reform to disclose question papers along with candidate responses and answer keys. The challenge fee for the Tier-1 answer key was also halved from Rs 100 to Rs 50.

Candidate Backlash and Demands

Candidates have flooded social media platforms with complaints regarding the answer key delay and SSC’s communication. Kunal Dhriyan, a candidate, stated the official X handle is not providing accurate information.

Another user highlighted the discrepancy between the PIB press statement promising an October 15 opening for challenges and the current situation. Aspirants demand immediate clarity, a firm new date for the answer key release, and transparent communication from the commission.

Related Exam Incidents

This delay occurs amidst other challenges surrounding the SSC CGL exam. The Delhi High Court recently questioned an SSC order restricting post-exam paper discussions and has sought a government response.

Separately, authorities arrested a server manager in Dhanbad in connection with an alleged cheating case related to the CGL 2025 examination.
