RRB JE 2025: Apply for 2,569 Junior Engineer Posts, Salary ₹35,400

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) opened applications for 2,569 Junior Engineer (JE) posts on October 31 . Eligible candidates can apply online atrrbapply.gov.inuntil November 30, 2024 . The recruitment includes positions for Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant. Successful candidates will receive an initial salary of Rs 35,400 under Pay Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

Applicants must be between 18 and 33 years old as of January 1, 2026 . Candidates must select one RRB during application. They will also indicate preferences for specific railway zones and notified posts within that chosen RRB. The application window closes at 11:59 PM on November 30 .

How to Apply

Candidates can register using existing RRB account credentials. An alternative registration method involves using Aadhaar card details. Applicants who previously created an account for any RRB Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) in 2024 or 2025 do not need to register again. They must log in with their previously established username and password.

Details provided during account creation, such as mobile number and email ID, cannot be modified at any stage after submission. For applicants choosing Aadhaar-based login, the system requires their Aadhaar-linked mobile number. A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to this registered mobile number. Entering the OTP allows access to the application form. If an RRB account already exists, applicants can use their registered mobile number or email address with their generated password to access the application.

Application Fees

Application fees vary by candidate category. A fee of Rs 250 applies to candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Ex-servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), female candidates, transgender candidates, minority communities, and Economically Backward Classes (EBC).

All other candidates must pay an application fee of Rs 500 . The final date for application fee payment for submitted applications is December 2, 2024 .

Selection Process

The selection process begins with a Computer-Based Test (CBT), designated as Phase 1. This initial test shortlists candidates for the subsequent stages. Shortlisting occurs on an RRB-wise basis. Candidates are shortlisted at a 1:1 ratio relative to the total vacancies available for that specific RRB. Successful candidates from the CBT will proceed to document verification and a medical examination.
